NYC Beaches: Rebuilding after the storm

 
As part of the restoration of New York City beaches following Super Storm Sandy, American & Interstate Signcrafters fabricated and installed more than 621 signs at more than 23 different sites across three NYC boroughs.

Each of the sites included: all property research, recommendation books, day-to-day project management, permit procurements, landlord approvals, a family of sign fabrications, installations, and closeouts. The new identification signs each feature a photograph taken at the exact spot where the sign is located, reminding residents and visitors that whatever Sandy took away, the beaches' beauty remains.

The beaches restoration project was honored with a special award from the Public Design Commission of the City of New York. The signage system is now being expanded to area beaches managed by New York State.
