The
New Amsterdam Theatre is a Broadway theatre located at 214 West 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in the Theater District of Manhattan, New York City, off of Times Square.
A historic Broadway theater, it was built in 1902–1903 and was designed by the architecture firm of Henry Hertz and Hugh Tallant. It is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and designated a New York City Landmark.
Recently AISC was commissioned to return its multi-story, custom awning and neon signage to its former glory.
AISC VP of Operations, Jr. Petersen, had this to share, "We recently completed the LED retrofit of the iconic New Amsterdam theatre in Times Square. What a difference! There are so many positive advantages besides appearance for retrofitting your neon / fluorescent signs. This sign originally needed 12 circuits to power all the high voltage components. Now it needs two. We removed 1,500 pounds of transformers and replaced them with 37 power supplies with a total weight of 50 pounds. It's now safer, easier to work with, and so much less likely to have issues saving you money on constant service calls."
