The Challenge

Superstorm Sandy did not damage one property. It damaged a public system spread across three boroughs, each with its own site conditions, approvals, and access constraints. Restoring it meant treating more than 23 separate locations as a single program instead of 23 separate jobs.

How AIS Delivered

This is the clearest example of AIS working as one team across all three service areas. Plan & Design produced the research and recommendation books. Build & Install handled fabrication and field work. Manage & Support carried permits, landlord approvals, day-to-day coordination, and closeout documentation.

One accountable team meant the city was not chasing separate vendors for status on separate sites.

The Result

More than 621 signs installed across more than 23 sites in three boroughs, and a special award from the Public Design Commission of the City of New York.
